Consent and Context

This read-only page displays the draft participant-facing instrument for review. It does not collect or export responses.

Interview opening, read aloud after consent:

Thank you for taking part. I am interested in how adult college and university students make sense of generative AI in their academic work, including experiences of use, nonuse, mixed effects, or uncertainty.

I am looking for descriptions of particular situations and how you made sense of them. Longer answers and concrete examples are usually more helpful than short answers. There are no preferred positions or correct responses. If a question does not fit your experience, please say so and explain why. You may also question a premise in anything I ask.

Please avoid names or details that identify an institution, program, course, instructor, classmate, or another student. Describe assignments and AI interactions in your own words; do not open, show, quote, or share coursework, feedback, prompt histories, screenshots, account records, or other artifacts. I may ask follow-up questions about what you did, what the tool did, what shaped a choice, what changed, or what remains uncertain.

Eligibility: age 18 or older, currently enrolled at a college or university, and enrolled in grade 10, 11, or 12 during the 2022–2023 school year.
Research caution: students may skip any question. Avoid collecting school names, course names, instructor names, or other direct identifiers unless approved.
Session recording: the live interview may be audio-recorded through the separate IRB-approved process. This page does not record audio or video and does not capture any participant response. The participant may decline recording and still take part.
