Compliance is guaranteed the day you adopt the template. Whether anything about learning changed is a separate question, and nothing in the adoption answers it.

01Students draft a claim by hand before opening any AI tool.

Productive, noetic. The work of forming a position happens in the learner. The difficulty is the point, and it is doing something.

02All work must be typed and submitted in writing. No oral or recorded options.

Exclusionary. It treats one output mode as the unmarked norm and blocks multilingual learners and students with writing-related disabilities without adding any learning the task required.

03Phones are collected at the door. A student who helps manage a parent’s medical care cannot check messages.

Exclusionary as written, and the statute already anticipates it through case-by-case caregiver determinations. The failure is not the rule. It is designing the exception after the rule instead of alongside it.

04Students explain, in two sentences, one revision they made and why the evidence warranted it.

Productive, existential and rhetorical. It ties a claim to a claimant. It also costs almost nothing to implement, which matters when you are asking teachers to absorb a change.

05The approved AI platform opens with a suggested thesis before the student has written anything.

Neither; this is friction removed. A vendor default decided what the task requires, and no one in the district chose it. Infrastructural conditions overrode instructional intent silently. This is the case the audit studio exists to catch.

06Every essay must be submitted with a full revision history and version log.

Drifts exclusionary. Revision histories are clues a teacher reads, not proof of understanding. A district that starts grading the documentation has built a compliance exercise with a research vocabulary, and it lands hardest on students who work in ways the log does not capture.
